Inspiration

Matthias Liedtke is a designer and artist inspired by the authenticity of material, the structure and quality of different surfaces and the intensity of color and light. He uses the natural power of materials and creates unique objects as well as art with a broad variety of light, intense coloring and structured surfaces. His work surprises and sometimes irritates the beholder. He creates fascination for materials and their inherent qualities by creating multi-facetted forms and surfaces as well as contrasting interaction among them.

Color

Color in its purest form is constituted by the power of pigments which have an indefinite richness. Color is one key to his approach to create a distinctive awareness of space.

Light

Light creates space and imagination, offers surprising atmosphere and new perspectives. The presence, intensity and focus of light defines the overall context of his design objects and art work.

Structure

Structure shapes surfaces and defines the character of physical objects. It influences the reflection of light and impact of color inside and outside of objects. Structure is the basic element in the creative design of Matthias Liedtke.
